The number of SkyKick IT Partners managing cloud deployments in the healthcare industry and overall in Europe has grown tremendously over the past year, and we’re working hard to make it even easier for them to handle sensitive data. And our commitment to meeting industry certification standards shows how we take data security and privacy very seriously.
That makes today very exciting. We are happy to announce that Cloud Backup and the Email Migration Suites are now compliant with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework. The certifications provide additional assurance that sensitive customer data is being handled securely around the globe.
While our products have always been in line with these important regulations, we wanted to make it even easier for Partners who work within these specific compliance frameworks. It’s also a key part of SkyKick’s philosophy not to charge for certain types of functionality just to make an extra buck. So we’re excited to announce that there will be NO ADDITIONAL COST for Partners to make their migration or backup orders HIPAA-compliant.

EU-US Privacy Shield Certification

This certification allows Partners to comply with EU and Swiss data protection requirements when using SkyKick Migration Suites and Cloud Backup. It also provides Partners the ability to communicate that they are using tools that effectively protect the rights and privacy of EU citizens.

The EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework provides companies in both the U.S. and Europe with a mechanism to comply with data protection requirements when transferring personal data between the EU, Switzerland, and the U.S. Compliance with Privacy Shield ensures IT providers can freely move information between Europe and the U.S. using SkyKick.
