Meet a SAM! – Sarah Gilbert

What’s a SAM? Internally, we call our support technicians SAMs (SkyKick Account Managers) because of their level of technical expertise and their collaborative, consultative approach to helping partners. When partners call into our free, unlimited phone and email support, they immediately get someone with the knowledge to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve Partner questions.

This week we’re featuring Sarah Gilbert, Product Specialist

How long have you been part of the SkyKick Support team? I have been a part of the SkyKick team for about 2 years

What attracted you to SkyKick? I wanted to journey to Seattle and to branch out into a challenging and new environment. What is so great about startups is the ability to get in on the ground floor and help to mold and create the company you are a part of. There is an amazing opportunity to drive change and innovation while still being able to pivot quickly when you need to adapt to change.

What is your current role? I am a Product Specialist

What do you like most about your role? Every day is different, and you face new challenges. I also love speaking with our partners, getting to know their stories and helping them to be successful.

What is most challenging?  Because every migration project is unique, partners can run into challenges and complexities with unfamiliar migration scenarios. Helping partners identify, prepare for, and resolve potential issues with these migration projects can be challenging, but is always the most rewarding part of what we do.

What is your favorite SkyKick feature and why? The easy-to-use platform. Our team constantly takes feedback from our partners to update features, and it keeps getting better!

What do you enjoy doing outside of work? Being an opera singer, I do enjoy singing! I also write for a couple of online publications on women in technology, women’s issues and social media.

What is something about you that surprises people when they get to know you? I am an opera singer that is also in tech. It’s not something you hear every day, but you would be surprised to find that many musicians take well to the world of tech. Musicians have skill sets that set themselves up for success in the world of tech so the transition is easy!

What is one of your favorite movies? Dangerous Beauty

What is one of your favorite movie lines? Not all who wander are aimless. Especially not those who seek the truth beyond tradition, beyond definition, beyond the image” Betty Warren, Mona Lisa Smile
